he creaking sounds like metal creaking, thought the springs had had it but got them checked and they are fine.

I will try what you say tomas, I have to admit I haven't been looking after my car quite as well as I do in sumer, just mainly because I work more and its too cold and dark, should really keep everything greased and such.

Why dont you get someone to bounce it whilst you get down and listen, listen from inside the bay too. Probably was some grease their stopping it creaking and now the wet winter has washed it off/dryed it out? Could it be a rubber bush? Is it metal on metal creaking?

Mine aint I dont think 1997 post face lift model.

Checked everything about the suspension, bounced it to see where the noise comes from and its the front, had both wheels off to have a look and not found anything obvious, sprayed WD40 on most stuff.

lol, a wish mine just had a creak! lol, bin to many garages and they all cant find what it is, wierd! lol! but they say everything is safe to drive on! its just an annoying noise now its actually getting less and less, so what ever it is is eather falling off or sumink!

no the 1.2 8v was the only standard model that came without an anti roll bar

it should have one?

anyway push down each corner to test dampers
then check the front springs and suspesion make sure its all bolted up
the check the exhaust manifold and the cat centre box all of these could wear and cause a creaking noise

my dads bmw used to do this, turned out to be the antirole bar sqeeking, just squirted some wd40 on the bushes.

Getting a bit of creaking from the front of my car when going over speed bumps and shit, it dont sound all that good.

Is there any way I can get rid of it??
