i think i could rivet the two ends of the skirts... looks more appealing than three big screws!

all my plastic stuff fitted first time too, its the fibreglass stuff which is a bad fit.

yeh i used a dremel wicked bit of kit must for any bodykit fitter

skirts are dodgy m8 if u rivet them ull see the rivets how do they fit on the car do the fit inside the doors or bond against the sill ??????? all this changes each way they could be fit

my rieger rs ones just needed screws at each end of the arches and three screws inside the sill where the door shuts job done as rieger stuff is plastic an fitted my car without any trimming at all

i used the dremmel for the little bits, but i had to cut some big chunks off so used the angle grinder for that

yeah... dremmel sounds like a better option than an angle grinder

sandpaper, angle grinder and dremmel i used.

ok then.... what should i use to trim it with??? dont wanna do a shoddy boj job

yeah thats right, when i had a carlton auto front bumper i had it on and off the car at least 20 times trimming and filling so there wasnt gaps and it fitted properly.

so i should fit it... take it off... then spray it??

skirts will screw into the sill and glue on under the doors, unless they are huge ones which u will probs have to make brackets for. fit everything first before you paint it, cos its guarenteed to need some trimming.

cos ive seen an astra with aftermarket skirts that were riveted on... is this the best way to do it??

fitting the bumpers is simple front once it has been trial fitted and sanded down in places where it is not right should be held on by the orogional screws and holes this bein in archs and engine bay best to make some kind of braces for undernieth on after market bumpers

skirts depends whether you are blendin them into the side of the car this case u need glassfibre and filler and two full side resprays

and again back bumper once sanded down and trial fitted to make its all snug should hold along origional holes and archs

all my bodykit i fitted myself some cases u may have to drill the holes urself but that is simple enough, ur best bet is to trial fit each bumper etc make sure they fit i.e drill all holes etc and the prep the surface with wet&dry primer it flat it and spary and then fit

I think they bolt through the bodywork underneath (like the current bumpers).

dont think they are blow heaters... just ordinary electric heaters... gonna cover the inside with newspaper so no dust from the walls fall on the work....




so does any one know anything about fixings??

Be careful your heaters don't actually "blow" air out, because if they do they will blow lots of dust on the thing you are spraying

well i have got some experience... i think i feel confident enough to give it a go... of course with a compressor and an air gun to evenly distribute the paint... plus im gonna empty my shed put a few heaters in there for 2 days to heat it up like a proper sprayin booth... think i'll do an ok spray job

best left for professionals in my opinion...especially the spraying...

just wondering what kind of procedures u need to take when spraying and fittin bodykits D.I.Y sylee....


just wanna make my car more like my own... wanna feel proud of what i have done to if by spraying and fittin it myself


how are they fitted?? rivets? and a bonding agent?
