corsa's with full 4x4 running gear, twin engined monsters, more v6's and maybe some mid-mounted rear wheel drive v6 corsas..........sounds like fun that!

Regal converted a C to Z20 - "Nightmare, never again".

Its all transponders and CAN-bus. Lets wait for aftermarket management.

2.0 16v ecotec is pants. Remember a bloke who put one in a corsa B about 3-4 years ago. PRoduced 140bhp, but wasn't anything like the redtop. Was nippy, but not quick.

FLy by wire throttle will be worked out. Everything is electrical these days so it'll be worked out. Seen the new 2.0 turbo already in a corsa C as well as an old LET engine.

Not for the corsa B though, that'll continue getting the XE and LETs for ages yet just like the novas.

Corsa C will get the newer engines.

ive seen corsa c's with redtops in, but surely these engines cant be used for ever.

The early 2.0 16v Astra mk3 GSi engine was a red top.

The later 2.0 16v ecotec will be the next engine to use. Its 136bhp, and less torque than the redtop, but are still tuneable motors and excellent reliability. Loadsa of em about, but probably more expensive.

A corsa B with one of those in wud still shift!! Plus u cud prob pick one up with under 20k on it!!

They wont be usin the alu block 2.0/2.0turbo/2.2s in corsa b's coz they are all fly by wire technology and wud be extremely hard/time consuming/expensive to get installed etc! Possibly in the Corsa C, but it'll be a while before they become 'run-of-the-mill' conversions. (also the price of the engine to start off with as well!!)

However, like Daimo says, as long as ppl carry on rebuilding/skimming red tops, they'll last foreva!!
