em sealed if you want any kind of bass but if you got a sub tht'd be pointless

i am doing my boot build soon and i an mounting the 6x9s in the side of the boot in a box with perspex windows to see behind. but wat i need to know is should the boxes be sealed or do i have to leave a gap somewhere or do they even have to be a certain size box pls give us some info cant get it finished without this info cheers chrismkm :thumbs:
