the info on the inverter is correct, it uses loads of power and wastes it too, a 150w item will run a ps2 without problems, keep it to an hour without the engine running, unless you have one of them jump start packs to hand, then time how long you can use it for.

car batteries are less efficiant in cold weather too, so in the summer it would last longer.

:look:

gav.

I know 3 ppl that have attempted fitting of the PSU conversion and have fucked thier PS2.

Invertor is the safest option as long as it is wired correctly and electrical system is all good :)

lol mate :)
Basically, it would mean opening up your ps2 and changing the power supply. However, getting a power inverter is probably the easiest option, but make sure it isnt near any power/speaker cables coz it can cause interference.
Eitherway, heres a little inverter specially for the ps2 :) - http://www.gameseek.co.uk/productdetail/PS22kqy8t451r9cgsnx/

Nes Co do something called a Super Power Board (under ps2 accessories), which replaces it and has a 12v car adaptor mode? doesnt say how much, but it looks similar to the previous power board :)

here we go mate
PSU = Power Supply Unit....basically the thing inside you ps2 that converts 240v AC to 12v DC for your ps2 circuitry :)

ill keep looking to see if there is anything cheaper than 78 quid lol

matey...nooo!
if your gonna keep your ps2 in your car in deffo, then you can get a new psu for the ps2 which runs off 12v
cant find the link, but its on google somewhere. Eitherway, power inverters use loads of juice and waste a shit load of it, and whats the point in going DC to AC, then back again :boggle: lol

anyways mate, ill try and hunt the link out for ya :)
