Dont forget my Optima... you can run it under the hood you know as a main battery! Let me know as I need to shed the weight. Mate be carefull cos if your battery just goes (which believe me it WILL) you'll be in shit creek. I can get you a GOOD second hand Vauxhall one for £10 mate... let me know by U2U. Im free on Wednesday so could sort you then and meet you if you want at PC world. Oh and bring some jump-leads so I can start you for when you go home.

The battery will have had it. Once they are flat they never properly recover, no matter how long etc its charged for, it just isnt holding charge is it. Ive just flattened one before just the once and that was enough for it to  . New battery time mate! Your altenator should be fine, mine was fine charging a BIG diesel battery and split charged optima...

caps are the biggest waste of money ever, your much better off splashing out on a diesel battery, mine was 35 quid and is 70 amp as apposed to the petrols 55 amp jobbies. my battery went flat so i had to get a new one, since then i havent had any dimming of lights etc..

NO caps are rubbish!! They just ensure a smooth power distribution! You need the power there in the first place - Altenator upgrade, then battery, then Cap if needed but you wont if youve done the other two...

Are you running an amp and sub? I used to get the headlights flickering along with the bass. If your using an amp thats over 1000w, then its ideal to use a power cap. If its just your HU, then you've got one knackered battery as already said.

Sean, your battery will be nackered. I let two vauxhall batteries go flat once and they NEVER recovered!! You are pulling too much power. Either split charge with an optima/jell battery or for the meantime upgrade to a larger battery upfront. I run a 70Ah Varta heavy-duty upfront and optima in the rear, hence the addition of 6-7 stone in weight!!

If I have my head unit on anything over around 18 (Alpine CDA7893R) then I get fading of the interior light (which I can cope with) but I also get it with my head lights. |
