yes the discs on my corsa have got quite an edge now. Been like that for ages and they are fine. May need replacing over the next 10k miles.

Thats rubbish! The edge groove happens as discs wear down. It causes no problems and can be easily rmoved with a file. Discs can wear down quite a bit before they need replacing, and pads can go right down to about 2-3mm of material before they should be replaced.

You may have grooved brake disks...is there a lip on edge of brake disc? is so they need replacing...if you have let the pads wear down too low they cause this grooving!

Some compounds just squeal all the time due to the high metal content (mintex) It could be that youve glazed the pads or possibly that they have worn low or even worn down to the metal.

Yes when the compound on the brake pad gets low, it starts to squeak. Ul prob need some new pads.

I noticed recently that when I brake my brakes make a squeaking noise comes! Why is this? Is there something wrong with the brakes?, would I need to change my brakes? :boggle:
