No probs

nah, just as long as the engine is off, the fuel pump will not be running.

It may help, like mentioned above to open the fuel filler neck, just to make sure.

I'd recommend gettin some to give u a hand, as once u have disconnected the pipe, some1 can then put their finger over it to reduce spillage.

Matt - u dont need to do that mate....

just jack one side of car up, undo the clips either side of filter, put new filter in, ensurin joins are tight, and drop car down.

start engine, and ensure no leaks. Dont :D

Be prepared to get petrol all over ur hands + the floor, so wear gloves.

ya dnt av to take the fuel relay off thers another way;)

go to ur petrol flap (petrol filler cap) and unscrew it or pull out woteva there ya go one depressurised fuel system:thumbs:

mine was the same as the manual so i cant help there but I can tell you i depressurised
my fuel system etc then when i went to remove the filter i found the bolts had seized and i couldnt get it off!

i've read me haynes and it says i need to depressurise my fuel system by disconnecting the fuel relay in the ECU

but my ECU ain't n e thing like the one in their picture - wheres me fuel relay - i've got a 1.4 16v Sri

and can't i just unscrew the old fuel filter and stick the new one in its place without fathing about with depressurising and that?
