yeh, i would say that the mating up, rivetting and then seam welding is the best way to go, as adam said you definatley need to strenthen the whole rear engine area, look at the twin engined nova, give you some idea, stick the tank in the middle, behind the drivers in a fuel cell, doesnt burn - just incase! that way you will have weight of that in middle

atm I'm getting a list of what needs to be done, will be starting this hopefully around february/march '04, but i'm reckoning it will take around 18months to fully do the project, just like beardy said a while back, just a case of fitting one part, removing it, adjusting the shell/mounts/part, re-fitting, testing, removing...

the petrol tank would need to be relocated anyway due to the rear transfer box & suspension from the cally - so it will be bolted to the floor & supported more by the roll cage - and will be an aly tank

im going to get a full roll cage welded into the car, didnt really think about bracing though - maybe underneath the car similiar to how the dahlback golf is reinforced?

also i would suggest putting in some braceing, for extra strength then i rekon u would only have to do it once if done proper

i know its something I want to avoid every 6 months - stripping the rear & re-welding it, i suppose though if its done good enough it shouldnt need re-welding once its done right!

Ok I've been having a few words with a few people about cutting out the rear floor pan of the corsa & welding in the floorplan from a cally t, and been suggested to lip the metal & rivet it into place prior to seem-welding the entire floorplan in to help strengthen it |
