i eventually did replace the coils though, just went the scrappy & got some off a smashed up corsa for £10

I used to have a problem with the ignition coil & aplifier in the cold/damp - lost count how many times I borrowed my mums hair dryer to warm the coils up before the car would run ok without stalling!

also corsa's don't have an automatic choke, its fuel injected, all it will do is inject a bit more fuel than normal to keep the engine ticking over

it could be your idol control valve not working properly or your automatic choke

i know its not the same engine

I would imagine the plugs & leads are nearer the end of there life than the start and yes I park it outside at night.

What perfomance leads & plugs do you reccomend? Splitfire any good?

when was its last service?
plugs ht leads?
if the leads are old do u park it outside at night? cold-condensation may bugger old ht leads causeing it to cut out

could be your ignition switch, might just be coincedence it happened in the cold.

Hi,

This morning was the first time ive drove my car in the "proper" cold, mt temp cage reported -3C!

On my way to work the car cut out 3 times, I had to turn the key off and start it again to get it going. The engine management light comes on at the same time that ot cuts out.

Ive been for a drive a few minutes ago and it seems to be driving ok now (the temp is about 9C)

Has anyone else had this problem, anyone know what it might be?

Its a Corsa 1.4 16v Sport.
