i took the sidelight switch off a scrapper, sans le dimmer, so i just wired it straight to the back of the switch.

another switch placed stupidly, the rear fog light, i hit it with my knee every day

cool, what a waste the other 6 r then

although i wouldnt have been arsed with the grey/green wire. you may find the dimmer to be the most annoying thing in the world as i have. I hit it ever time i put my lights on, due to my stupid bear claw of a hand

these are the wires i used

red - permanent live
black - ignition live
brown - earth
blue - temp sensor
blue/white - temp sensor
grey/green - sidelights (dims MFD when lights are on)

finished wiring it up, took about half an hour to take the bloody dash out!
then had to solder some wires together for power, earth etc.
then fed 2 bloody great lengths of wire out through the gromet to the engine bay and down to the bottom of the bumper for the temp sensor, insulation taped the 2 lengths of wire for some protection from the engines heat and water/muck etc.

then when putting the heater console back in i snapped a fixing clip off the white bit, so ive improved the use of zip ties heavily, it works so its good enough for me.

i now have a fully working(well, not into radio but i didnt want it in there anyway) MFD, yay!!

took all of a day, oh, and i had to go to town to buy some wire for the temp sensor.

started at 12.45, finished at about 3.30.

They dont do a f***ing haynes manual for the corsa C - cunts!!!

James@CCC

yup, but they are quite complicated at first, small and a bit in german!

buy a haynes manual for 15 quid and it has the wiring diagrams in it.

yea i believe red = pernament, black = ignitoon and brown = earth in all vauxhalls ever. so its a pretty good rule of thumb

ah right, brilliant corser mate, exactly what i wanted, and i think grey/green is up to the sidelights to light it up,
so red is permanent 12v and black is ignition 12v then?

James@CCC

red - pernament live for memory so straight to battery, or something to do with the hazrd light fuse as standard
black - i think is ingnition so itll turn it on
red/blue ?
grey/green ?
grey/black ?
grey/red ?
grey/brown?
blue/white - from temp sesnor
blue - to temp sensor
red/brown ?
brown - earth
brown/black?

ok, so quite a lot fo question marks but wiring diagrams can be confusing, especially in german. but if you have those connected it should work perfectly for what you want. If not just try anything with black as igniton live and anything with brown as a brown, but i dont think thatll be nessesary

Haynes Manual - £19.99 - heck of a lot cheaper than a new MFD and has everything you need to know :)

I wanteds to know this so I could make the MFD keep displaying the date even when the radio was turned on but never quite figured it out :(

i think the blue & blue white go to the temp sensor behind the bumper (same colors as on the connector there)

ive got 12 wires coming off it

red
black
red/blue
grey/green
grey/black
grey/red
grey/brown
blue/white
blue
red/brown
brown
brown/black

bear in mind i have no loom for the MFD so will be connecting it off existing wires etc.
and i only want it to do the normal coming on when the ignition is on, going off when its off, lighting up when the sidelights are on and keeping the time, so obviously i need a permanent 12v in there somewhere.
i have the temp sensor and want to connect that up too.

so what wires do i need to connect to what?

Ta very much :D
