Well i bought a cable which does the steering controls. An audioleads one which said you will not get a remote display. :o

And I bought a Vauxhall Facia adaptor, and this cable came with it. it converted all the wires. Plugged it in and I got all the details for my unit, like track time station. The only thing that stopped working was the automatic clock. I guess cause it was linked to the RDS of the original stereo.

i fitted my new alpine headunit the other day and i havent changed any wires around at all. I can store radio stations in the memory but i lose the date and radio station, but the temperature and clock still works.

you will, but there are ways to get around it :) Have a look in the tutorial section and it shows you how to get your MFD back. However, it wont show any information form the H/U, just the date/temp etc :)
