As far as checking the engine, same as on a normal car. Test drive it, listen to it. Get underneath and have a good look for signs of leaks. Also try and find out a bit of history on the eng. Where it come from? How many miles? Service history? etc...

hey guys remember this car aint for me!i would never get decent insurance for it.

its for a mate who is 22 with 3 years no claims, think he's got quotes for around 800 fc.

cheers about the mounts mate. The guy thats selling is a mate of a mate type thing and he's done a fair few conversions so i'd assume it ok.

check the engine mounts and that have been strengh welded properly aswell, last thing your mate wants is for the engine mount thingys to crack under the stress from the engine

Think he means he'd not insure as 2.0

Buy it and insure it properly, nothing better than a sleeper

If its all in good confition then it sounds good. As long as the 2ltr aint been ragged about to much.

Nothing wrong with it looking like a merit, get it tuned up and keep it standard. The amount of people u would piss off as you pulled away from them!

dependsin engine condition... but sounds like a fairly good shell for a project

m-reg corsa 1.2 (i think its a merit as no trim and grey bumpers. shell has done 50k and in good condition in white. It has

2ltr 16 valve engine
full jamex suspension kit
stainless steel exhaust with new manifold
cavy GSI brakes

and the guy wants £1800 for it.

what u think? it looks like a lowered merit!he's got to give an answer soon so please let me know what u think.
