is the cage bolted in??? Cages have metal tabs that bend upwards to hold them in the dash try to see if this is the case and bend the tabs down. I aint fitted a stereo on your kind of car before so i am just guessing what it could be,

Kerry have a look at where the head unit went. Is there a metal cage there? i don't remeber seeing it yesterday. if there is take that out cause it goes with the head unit. there should be wires behind there for the arial and the cd autochanger.

well in that case the wires will be part of the loom i would of thought, check what wires are at the plug at either the head unit end or changer end and follow these through the loom cutting them out as you go, if this is the case remember to tape the loom back up, before you do this get some cable ties and balck electrical tape, to replace what you have had to cut.

Well the cable from the changer, will run to behind the head unit me thinks, its not a great distance for the cable to travel. Follow the cable from the changer, if it was installed after as in not factory fitted the cable will probably be cable tied under the dash, just follow the cable and cut it away from fixings as necessary
