I have been told that focal 'Access' speakers aint all that at all, and its well worth getting the Polyglass 165 V2's as they are worth the extra money.
Was also told that the polykevlars aint much better then polyglass and so not to bother paying the extra for them.

So basically the caliber amps are phoenix gold's with a different case? niiicce whats the rough price on the caliber's??

Halfords only sell and only CAN sell one line of Focal products, their budget, access range Focal JMLab wont sell them any of the other available kit. They wont sell them the Audison amps either :(

dont might me!

sell them,

why do you want to increse the treble? you dont want to increase the treble. you need to increase the power to the front comps.

You do this by giving it more power (eg amp them)

they cost me £130 trotty;)

PainZ - what could i buy to increase the treble, because the 2 12s will b very bassy, i have already got 6x9s, but i might sell them!

How much did the components cost from Halfords then Andy?

[Edit - forgot to add, don't bother with the 6x9's ;) ]

All focal speakers are good, so you have made a good choice,

Ill be buying ssome 165K2P's soon

I know i say this alot, but i really wouldnt bother with 6x9s,

and with you planning two 12s there is not much point, i would save the money you spend on 6x9s and put them on the DLS A3 for the fronts.

Like i say both the A6 and A3 are the same size so look mint together :)

i went for focal 165a componets! what do think mate?

PainZ

posted on 10th Nov 03 at 14:19

i would get a DLS A3, that would look smart in the boot with a A6 as thats the same size,

if you aint bothered about that, and want something smaller with maybe a smaller output also you could look at the A2

PainZ

ok cool

what focals did you go for in the end?

Andy GSi

running the fronts of the A6 are you????

u mean the componets? this will be an overview of my set up:

2JL 12s running off the A6
componets/6x9s or some different speakers(for treble) off a 4 channel JL amp

Get the A6,

you wont find a better amp for the price,

however, you have slightly worried me, your not planning on running the fronts of the A6 are you?
