Hmmm... my gearbox seems a little clunky and a bit stiff when going into gear sometimes, but it is a Y reg, done 18k miles, and i have'nt driven any other corsa C's to compare it too either...

Your right, it shouldn't happen.
Mine felt lovely and smooth after both of its services, but after a few months it gets a bit notchy. Not too bad tho. Doesn't crunch, except a bit in reverse.

Fair enough on an older car, but on newer cars you should not stand for it

lol,

I demand the best. It was smooth when I got it, so should still be smooth now :D

i think the noise from gear changing is normal, happens on a lot of cars.

Mine had the linkage replaced last month under warrrenty. I had trouble getting 1st gear. Much better now though, very smooth.:)

Mmmmmmm

Mines been back for the same thing 3-4 times. All they were doing before was lubricating something :boggle:

My mate works at the Post Office. He said that they were having to replace the linkages with new ones on dozens and dozens of their Corsa vans for the exact same problem.

As soon as I said that to the manager at the garage this morning he said he'd order one of the new ones in and give that a try

They clunk when you select a gear !

When it was new it was perfectly silent and so gentle. You could just nudge the lever with your little finger and it would glide in with ease.... But now I need to really push it firmly to get it into gear, and about 50% of the time of crunches slightly as it goes in

Wat u mean clunky gears?!

Mikeboy

They're finally going to sort out my problems properly, rather than just lubricating things.

Got clunky gears , so they're fitting one of these new linkages, with metal balljoints rather than plastic ones ??

And squeaky clutch, so I'm getting new parts for the cylinder thingy to fix that .

:) Cant wait :D

Has anyone else got one of these 'new' linkages ? Are they better than the old ones ?

Cheers
