quote: :! yea, but surely you would have an uprated battery and even have a split charging system going if your taking that amount of power? :boggle: The only problem i can see having a bigger alt is that you will loose power from the engine :( Btw, anyone know what alt is on a 1.2 corsa B as standard? i heard it was 60A? And does anyone know the max you could fit to a B? :)

If you have the 1.2 16V XE lump the Vecta V6 alts will fit - 100/120A but you will need to remove the air-duct pipe from the new alt. Also it MAY give you poor engine efficiency and ive heard of cases where with a big enough bass note and a massive alt they can stall the engine!!

Trotty, just get a 70a one and get it uprated, will work out much cheaper.

Yes cap is always last. Without the alternator their would be NO power in the first place! Bigger batteries always seem to show as a good result as they have a higher capacity and dont flatten as quick but often wont last that long, well not as long as if they had a GOOD altenator charging them

i woulld have thought u'd upgrade the battery and alternator before u start considering a cap?

Well in most cases try and upgrade the standard battery too, get a diesel battery. My Exide one has 650CCA's and helped greatly powering the headunit, fogs ect. Was only £27.99, defo worth it.

Bigger altenator first (if possible) and then upgrade to a bigger battery OR split charge with another battery (sealed jelly battery) in the boot
