If you turn off the split charge relay then no you wouldnt, but if you turn it on you still probably would as it is still connected to the rest of the system.

To stop dimming lights you would want to uprate the alternator + all cables + earths and battery ect.

Not a cheap one im afraid. People who say a cap will sort it are talking out of their anus

how do you wire up a separate battery to run sound gear. if you have a separate battery with everything else standrad, will you still get dimming lights?

You could always leave the battery and just upgrade the alternator

As Austin says look at getting a bigger battery,

Look a possibly a Diesel battery, these will be available from your local Vauxhall dealer, or you could just go out to halfords and look on their chart there :)

To be honist, if you havent noticed any lack in performance from your power system i wouldn'nt bother upgrading it :)

hmm....yea course you can buy a bigger battery, but will it fit in the battery holder is the question?? Also, it will take longer to charge, so look at getting a big alt before you get a bigger batter. Although also look at split charging. Ie: you have batteries in ya boot for your sound gear :)
