ive heard similar stories n its supposed to be normal. what ur hearing are the x-drills/slots workin on the pad. im guessing it'd sound more abrasive when used with hard pads.

found something that might help..

Just fitted new front rotors (Tarox Super Japan cross drilled and slotted rotors) on my TR Astra and matched them up with EBC Greenstuff pads all round. I've noticed that the brakes are making a lot of noise (grinding not squeeling) when braking, whether it be soft or hard braking. Is this normal or should it go away as the pads bed in properly? :boggle:

Any ideas welcome.
Thanks.
