yup Kris TD this is what I reckon my car does - however, people who then only see 105 mph are only actually doing about 94.5 mph!

115 mph - 10% speedo inaccuracy is about 105 mph.

I've had my car to an indicated 117 mph on the m40 with witnesses (more than once too) - at about 5800 RPM ish...

Same with the Corsa C Sxi (1.2 16v) Top speed in the book is 106Mph, but when its hitting the limiter in 5th its doing 120. It just takes alot of time and a bit of wind behind.

Well i actually just tested it in 3rd gear down a dual cariageway :)

Got to about 85mph in 3rd gear at about 6,500 and it was still pulling then a little bit after it lunged forward a bit as the limit cut in.

On that basis i recon i could have got the car to about 115mph if i had enough road. (the handbook only says 105mph ???)

Should be the same as teh 1.4 16v i should imagine. Use the same gearbox.

1.4 16v standard limiter is 6620rpm.
