Didnt get it done :(

It was jacked up
Trailing arm lowered as much as possible without damaging the brake hoses.
Wheel was off.

Just dont know why it wont come out?

Cant be bothered to try today. Its too hot and I need a day of rest lol.

Thanks to those who tried to help.

Pete

You have jacked it up and lowered the trailing arm as much as possible (without damaging the brake lines) havent you? cant work out the problem? Will the bottom section not slide out of the trailing arm? You have taken your wheels off havent you? Seriously mate, none of us can work out whats wrong. Its a piece of pish! Oh yeah you have undone both sides havent you, to allow the trailing arm to drop otherwise that will give you grief?

I just cant get it out. Tried screw drivers and stuff.

I know it would be easier if I were taking the standard shocks off becasue they are easier to compress.

Someone must be able togive a detailed explanation.

I can get it out from between the to mounting holes but cant manouver it out

All bolts are undone. That wasnt a problem.

Its actually removing the damper.

Followed the haynes manual and its just the last bit.

to undo the top bolt u need to have a spanner to hold the top bit and then u can undo the nut or the whole damper will spin around

Rear damper has one bolt at the bottom that needs un-doing and completely sliding out of the dampers bush. Then undo the nut at the top and remove the top metal cup and bumper rubber... Easiest thing possible, cant see where you are going wrong?

Right, come accross our 1st problem.

Taking the rear damper out. Can anyone help as to how to get it out.
All the bolts are out. Just cant get it out from the trailing arm.

Because the shock is relly stiff its hard to compress it enough.

If you've never done it i'd recommend following a Max Power Haynes manual, can't go wrong with it  Front will take a couple of hrs, maybe more as it's your first time, rears are dead easy, probably less than n hour. All depends what trouble u run into.

Me and a mate are putting my car back to standard and on Thursday we're swapping the shocks and springs over.

Just wondering what is involved, how long it will take considering we've never done it before.

We've got spring compressor and various selection of tools.
And the bible, a haynes manual.

Any advice or tips?

Things to watch out for etc?

Cheers,

Pete
