You have jacked it up and lowered the trailing arm as much as possible (without damaging the brake lines) havent you? cant work out the problem? Will the bottom section not slide out of the trailing arm? You have taken your wheels off havent you? Seriously mate, none of us can work out whats wrong. Its a piece of pish! Oh yeah you have undone both sides havent you, to allow the trailing arm to drop otherwise that will give you grief?

to undo the top bolt u need to have a spanner to hold the top bit and then u can undo the nut or the whole damper will spin around

Rear damper has one bolt at the bottom that needs un-doing and completely sliding out of the dampers bush. Then undo the nut at the top and remove the top metal cup and bumper rubber... Easiest thing possible, cant see where you are going wrong?

If you've never done it i'd recommend following a Max Power Haynes manual, can't go wrong with it  Front will take a couple of hrs, maybe more as it's your first time, rears are dead easy, probably less than n hour. All depends what trouble u run into.

Me and a mate are putting my car back to standard and on Thursday we're swapping the shocks and springs over. |
