If you mean the cylinder block when you say bottom end then yes take it all out and split it.Then do what you need to do.

Am in the process of removing the c16xe from my gsi. Was just wondering if it's easier to take it out leaving the gearbox in. As I only need the bottom end out. Thanks in advance
