is undelete a sub program of norton utilities or something cos i cand find the individual programme?

When files get deleted they are still there, the part of teh hard drive that they are on is just marked for overwriting.

So as long as you don't go sticking any big files on your computer they will probably still be there.

If you are using the FAT or FAT32 filesystem (win98 winME) then it's easy, get hold of a prog called undelete from norton and run it from a dos boot disk.

i called an IT expert about 5pm and he said he was doubtful but was researching how it can be saved. i think im bolluxed tho. stupid piece of crap

you are screwed mate!
Get someone else to look at it, pay them
If you continue to write to the hard disk you will eventually overwrite whats there (Your deleted files)

Using any application could do it!

Norton Systemworks recovers deleted data

You will need data recovery software... Should be straight forward, depending on how much you deleted (You fool, Backup in future!) you could use this -> http://download.com.com/3000-2248-10187731.html

It will recover 1MB of data for you... then you must buy the full version
