Needforspeed scanned and emailled me the fitting instructions for the DTi :-


So you cant put it directly on the turbo on the DTi ? :(

They expect it will bring performance gains of 3-5 bhp ..

So is that simply because of the fact that it's a turbo diesel that makes the performance gain a lot just for an air filter ?

As it says now in the first post ^ , got the instructions for the DTi , and it doesn't fit straight onto the turbo. ..

You reckon I should still get it as opposed to any other one ?

dunno, my car doesnt have a air mass meter. assume you would just move it. it would probably come with all the bits for doing this.

By looking at the picture instructions - it looks like you just leave all the old piping and airbox there as it is and just move that pipe onto the cone ??

But what happens to the air mass meter? , that thing just after the cone in this pic ?

this is greens fitting instructions for a 1.5 td corsa, i notice they make one for the dti although they dont have instructions up yet.

the turbo works by the expelled exhaust gases spinning the turbine and in the centre the turbo wheel compresses the air that is going into the engine.

no, the turbo uses exhaust gases to drive the turbine which draws in fresh air. this fresh air gets speeded up in the turbo and fired into the engine. more air = more power. the green induction kit just bypasses unnecessary pipework that isnt really needed, its just there to quieten down the engine and reduce power really.

it doesnt require cutting anything, the kit comes complete with everything you need.

I saw you mentioned that somewhere before - but it got me wondering. - Cos I thought the turbo ran off the exhaust emissions ?? - - So I must be wrong there . - So how does it work then ?!?

Also, would it involve lots of cutting and moving things about? - Cos that'll probably void quite a few things on the warranty ?

- edit - also what about that air sensor thingy ?! - Where would that move to ?

better off just bolting the filter straight onto the turbo. works much better and will be a lot cooler.

the green induction kit does this anyway. white flash has also done it with his pipercross, planning on doing mine at some point. it bypasses the top of the inlet manifold which heats the intake are quite a lot.

The only thing is I'm not too keen on making any holes in the box.

Atleast if I had a seperate box similar to that , I could put the standard one back in whenever I take it the car back to the dealer...

that looks good but it mite just be easier to buy one that fits around the cone without gaps and besides its much easier that way
