you defo need a new clutch and release bearing! The bearing shouldnt come apart.

rite ive got the gearbox out and clutch off. the gearbox goes intoo every gear and returns to neutral as normal. the clutch looks ok but there is play in the center of the friction plate.... you can move it back and forth. also the release bearing comes apart but then goes back 2gether? there is also funny marks on the pressure plate kinda like scrubbing or slippin marks ?

Did you adjust the clutch yourself, as it should not be wound in fully? You will have to take the wheel off, and check the drive shafts first, sounds to me as if either the clutch is gone and the car is stuck in gear, no matter what the position of the lever, or a drive shaft has a knackered joint. Remove the shaft and carefully check it over.

no the grumbling was there for bwt 10 min regardless of what i did along with a high pitch squeling. i started it 2day and it doesnt make a dodgy noise anymore but still wont go into gear and jolts forward when started asif its in gear

does the grumbling go away when you press the clutch? if the clutch is working the gearbox will stop rotating when the clutch is pressed with the engine running... if the grumbling stays when the clutch is pressed - that points towards clutch release bearing..

sounds like a knackered clutch or gearbox failure... i would guess its clutch related.

yesturday my corsa decided while driving to grind badly into every gear. it stalls on idle as if its in gear even tho the gearsick is 100% in neutral, it was making a bad grumbling from the gearbox area when started. ive looked in the viewing plate and nothing major on the clutch has broke or come off. the clutch pedal is right at the top before the car starts to bite and it feels like the brakes have locked on before it starts to move????? oh and the clutch cable is wound right in? essay over any1 got any ideas what it could be?
