dont bother with an induction kit on a 1.6 they are a waste of money, the main problem being is that they suck in hot air and cause a flat spot when you pull away,i had to take mine off as it p*ssed me off!!!alot of people have had that problem to so ive heard

Actually come to think of it, a really good induction kit with plenty of heat shielding and cold air feeds might yield better results than a drilled airbox with performance panel filter and cold air feeds. Just make sure you dont get the PiperX Viper kit, at £200 its too expensive. Its mainly expensive for looks. Just stick with a standard PiperX filter or K&N jobbie.

Yes but induction kits are a waste of time and money. Yes its ideal to get air flowing as fast/much as possible and exhaust gases exiting quicker, but this can be obtained with just an aftermarket panel filter and drilled airbox. This attached to an aftermarket inlet manifold and plenum can see great power increase when coupled to a decent exhaust manifold and down pipes. Go for Scorpion or Magnex, since these two make very high quality performance exhausts. Also think about either a de-cat pipe or a performance cat. After this the engine will breathe much more easily. If you are rich as buggery, go and see www.sbdev.co.uk and look at there throttle body conversions. Also look at high lift cams and pulleys to match. Then get it chipped and RR'd.This is a corker of an engine and you will see most impressive performance soon enough.

Miles, a torque tube won't give you that much Hp without a free flowing exhaust. With car performance you've got to put an exhaust and air fiter on first otherwise anything else you do doesn't make as much difference as it should.

If you want performance per pound then dont waste your money on an exhaust and filter. Both will cost about £300 and give you about 5bhp, spend that money straight on a velos torque tube and a £25 panel filter. Get 20bhp + straight away.
