I just fitted a new cam belt, water pump and cam belt adjuster.

Haynes says rotate the water pump until the spring loader is in line with the hole in the backing plate. Turn the engine over twice, then back off the water pump until the spring loaded bit is in line with the V cut out in the backing plate.

How vital is it's position in the V? Atm mine's about 1mm to the left (tight) of the V. And I'm not sure it's worth going through the ritual of moving the water pump for such a tiny adjustment.

Thanks
