Mine dones the same, it ended up being one of the injectors stuck open. Causing it to overfuel, check your plugs to see if they are covered with soot.

where has it said about head gaskets coming loose?

does sound more like a misfire to be honest,

check plugs and leads.
Check for water in oil, and oil in water

Headgaskets dont just come loose as said above, if its gone it will need replacing.

had a similare problem when i first purchased my corsa.

the car would be going fine, then not lose all power but most, and it would struggle and vibrate.

i replaced the ht leads, sparks, and distributor cap (d.c was the problem i found out in the end) as it was not firing on all cylinders - causing the engine to run poorly.

cant be doing it a lot of good, but i tell u what matey, jus have a quick look at the exhaust manifold when the engine is runnin an put your hand near there (dont burn yaself) then u can feel if the manifold is blowin if it is then u may need engine mounts and the excessive movement of the engine rocking may have made it loose :boggle: worth a try

Might be the head gasket mate:( cause a mate of mine has a nova and the exact same thing happened to his and he took it in the garage and had to have the head gasket replaced!! might not be thought:boggle: but it sounds like it a lot!

hi, the other day my car suddenly started to make loud noises, firstly i thought it was just my exhaust had blown or sumfin, but theres now vibrations from my engine and it shakes the whole car and makes the ride very slow and unpredictable(like it will suddenly speed up and stuff),

just wondering if anybody knows what is wrong or if anyone has the same problem. BELIEVE ME, it vibrates alot, sounds like some dragster or sumfin
