quote: Or you could get an engine now and be done with it. Letting something give up is not best practise dude, trust me. The wait for the AA or similar is an arse when an engine lets go. At least you know it is coming, prepare for it and sort it rather than it sorting you.................

Bottom end is on the way out according to a Vauxhall expert! Ah well, have to live with it till it gives up.

could be just a bit tappety when its cold maybe even the headgasket, if oil was low, does it go up and down in volume witht the revs?

quote: I see. Timing belt hasn't been done since I got the car, that's all I know, and thats 17000 miles or something. Oil is fine, I filled up yesterday as it was low. Could it be related?

Haimsey's was the timing chain and those arent applicable to your engine.......

This has just started today, if you lightly touch the throttle it'll tap, then if u put it down heavier it'll stop for a while, then after abouy 3k revs it'll start getting louder and by 5k it's screaming and I lose bottle cause it sounds awful. |
