theres a little hole in the top side of the barrel that pokes a little clip in and then turn the ignition to position 2 and it pops out

yeah theres no need to pull hard, I think it goes in part way then when you turn the key to the right postion you can get it in furter (so to speak)

The hole I was putting it in was quite hard to get too, as it was being fouled by something under the steering column. That right? Did it come away easy? As in you didn't need to pull hard.

I thought it was a rod from the bottom, theres a little hole underneath the steering column when youve taken all the plastic trim off. I used a little allen key in there then turn it to ignition on postion and pull it out

Anyone got a clue on how to get it out, I have checked the Haynes Manual and it says to put some kind of rod in the top.

Has anyone got some 'first hand' tips, as it's better than reading from a book :o

Aye, can get one tomorrow, just wanted to make sure.

The fella in the garage said it's really difficult to remove and needs to be done by someone who knows what they're doing?

Go to the scrappy get a new barrel with the key, even the nova barrel will fit. theres a tiny little hole in the ignition casing get sumthing to press into this like a thin allen key and this will release the barrel with a quick jingle

Is the key chiped?

My ignition fuckered itself at work last night :o

I put the key in and turned it, and it just went all 'loose' didn't spring back when you turned it or anything. So took it all apart, and took the black box off the back, and there was a bit of metal in it, shook that out, stuck a screwdriver in and started it.

I went to Vauxhall today and he said I have to replace the whole ignition barrel, and need a new key. Annoying.

Is this true?
