take the battery off for 10 minuits, turn your headlights on when the batterys off so it fully discharges cars system, put it back on and it will turn the light off, if its still on and its still saying EGR then theres soemthing wrong with the new egr or wiring.

is that a vaux job or battery off overnight job?

Leave the battery off the car overnight. If that doesnt work, do it for longer.

If that doesnt work.... it probably wasnt your EGR at fault.

this happened to me, have you had the ecu wipped of faults if not the engine light sometimes stays on

ive put a new egr valve in my x14xe but eml is still on! paperclip shows egr! how do i get rid of eml light?
