So that means theres no problem with the fan then, you need to test the connector to see if one side is live with the ignition is on, If its not then the problem is between there to the fuse box. If there is 12V then the problem is between the fan, the fan switch and the earth for the fan switch

2 wires from the battery direct to the fan works

Used to be able to bridge the fan switch wires but now doesn't work

If you take the plug off and youve got +12V on one of the pins then its just the earth thats missing. When you say it works with a live to it does that mean youve put 2 wires to it from your battery and it works?

The fan does work with a live to it
but it doesn't come on with the 2 wires bridged in the fan switch, and all fuses have been checked and are ok

Earth both pins in the switch??

If youve got the standard engine in it with the fan easy to get to then unplug it and test both wires, one should have 12V with the ignition on

There isnt a relay for the main radiator fan at all, the rad switch handles the full current.

One side of the fan should have a premanent 12V supply to it and the ground to the fan is switched by the radiator switch so joining the 2 wires to the switch should make it start.

Failing that earth both of the pins in the switch, if it doesnt start then either the fuse has blown or the fan has had it

Tried this. Doesn't do anything with ignition on or off but just sparks :(

unplug the rad fan switch and put a live down the wire, because bridging doesnt start the fan maybe there isnt a feed to the switch so if you can either find that the switch has power and earth to it or start the fan by putting a live down it will test the wires

try putting a live down the fan switch wire, unplug the fan switch first tho:lol: this will check the wiring to from switch to fan:thumbs:

works with a live to the fan but not bridging the fan switch wires :boggle:
