This happened to me on a 1 year old sxi, it was the crankshaft end that had worn down, the electronic sensor that is connected to the ECU is attatched to it, and because it wasn't connecting properly it was fuckin the ECU up, which made the limiter kick in at 4000rpm

Dont know if its related but.. when i test drove the car before buying it there was a rattling sound coming from the drivers side of the engine when accelerating. I asked them to sort before I handed over the cash. The said they'd took it to vauxhall and it was a camshaft sensor that needed replacing - and supposedly had been. I took it for another test drive and all seemed ok..the noise had gone and the light had gone off.

read the fault code yourself, f_ck paying Vauxhall to do it. Learn how here > http://www.knighta.f9.co.uk/info/fault_codes/fault_codes.htm

Thanks a lot viera, if id known I could have picked one up while i was there. I'll go fetch one after work. Hope it is a air/fuel sensor as you say and nothing more serious!

you will need to get the fault read, you can either do this by going to vaux and they will skin you alive, or buy the fault finder from halfords, this will tell you what the problem is but most likely an air/fuel sensor.

Just been for a ras at lunch and experienced some violent jerking at 4000rpm. When I got to Ripspeed I put it into neutral and slowly reved up, as it got to 4000rpm it just bounced back repeatedly! Car is a 1.4 16v Sport, are these limited as standard? What do I need to do to remove it? A Superchip? |
