Make sure you check it over propperly before you hand over any cash!

Make sure the engine is straight (ie propper mounts have been used)

Check the water for black\grey solidified oil as the head maybe porous.

Make sure the EML comes on with the ignition and goes off when she fires up.

Check for smoke from the exhaust.

Check for any knocking from the engine. Tapping on startup is to be expected as with almost all redtops but should go away once warm.

Expect the famous leaking sump gasket but make sure it isnt extreme.

Definately brakes and suspension and then enjoy the fun for a while and take it from there!

yeh fan works fine and i wana get it on some coilovers and get the big brake conversion from lmf vauxhall. cheers for the info mate!

Just make sure its not bodged in, oil leaks are common in fact i dare if it doesnt leak then its not a redtop :lol: overheating isnt a problem as such some run low some run high, just make sure the fan works

mods engine wise the list depends how deep your pockets are

big brakes and good suspension are a must though

hi just joined the forum. iv just bought a corsa gsi redtop! cant wait to pick it up! lol wat should i look out for? is there any problems with corsa redtops? iv heard they sometimes overheat? any other probs with them? what mods should i do to it, getting the big brake conversion done ASAP! lol gona b abit weird to drive because iv been driving a corsa C for 2 years! lol cheers for any advice!:thumbs:
