done a compression test today
results
1 2 3 4
20 90 240 240 dry

then did 1 and 2 with some oil in 1 went up to 25, 2 went upto 100

I am thinking maybe H/G between 1+2. What else should I look for??

noo I kept all the original 1.4 items...after searching through the site, most people were saying this would be ok.

there isnt one on a 1.4/1.6 16v as the coilpack has an internal amplifier.

are you using the loom, sensors and ecu from the 1.6?

Should look a bit like that one in your bay. (that's not the actual one, something similar I found on ebay)

Mine used to heat up normally on 2 cylinders and i could grab the 2 inner tubes on the manifold with my hand

Try changing it off another 1.6 and see if that works!

Yours is doing the same as my XE. You need to change the Ignition Amplifier. :)

reyt this sounds dumb the coilpack, is this attached to the side of the head? all the ht leads come out of? if sooo, this worked perfect on the old engine! and all spark plugs have good sparks?

What dizzy?

Sounds like coilpacks faulty, as only one of its coils are firing.
