I mean taking the whole unit out. Similar to if you remove the rear wiper unit?

do you mean the whole ariel thing meaning its flush with the roof or just the ariel?

If I take the ariel off of my roof, what shape is the hole that is left behind? Will a simple rubber gromet fill it? :)
