I've been ringing around for 7"x18" alloys. The feedback was negative and most of the wheels in that size were 7.5"+

Spoke to one bloke and said 7.5 would fit and wouldnt fowl the suspension, but will fowl the arches, if no work is done to them...

I'm thinking in going big wide tyre for my 2.0 16V Turbo
i'm running 215/40 16 on 7" wide alloys, but they look like they take more...

...how much more? ...and with 8" wide?
