I use forte flush. Last time i used it there was lumps of crap falling out the sump :o

Everyone here at vauxhall uses it on their own cars too. Its is pretty good stuff:)

Depends on the engine really.
I know of many C20XE who have had 4 sets of brand new tappets and they are still loud slick50 can just bring down the noise alittle

ok so maybe you could give me some suggestions as to why it might have a ticking problem? and what to do to fix it.

no,

all additives are rubbish, if the engine has a ticking problem get it fixed, glorified overpriced gunk in a bottle wont help.

Oil changes will just clean your current oil i.e. replace old oil that may be 'black' rather than clear with no clean oil. It wouldn't remove the crap that builds up in engines.

As for Slick 50 that or STP fuel system cleaner. It's what i've been using in mine and will use for my engine clean up next month.

As for ticking noises if the oil made it quieter then a fuel system clean and management may work, yet it may not trial and error IMO.

I've normally used full system cleaner when my car rough idle's or during winter when it's cooler etc. Followed by STP injection cleaner every 3000miles.

Give it a try but slick 50 is decent same qual as STP but i'd pick those over other brands such as redex etc.

It never hurts to give your engine a bit of TLC so even if it doesnt reduce the ticking it'll still give it a clean
