10w/40 is what Vauxhall recommend for the ecotec engines. They use 15w/40 for the 1.2 8v's i think.... | |

you did leave enough time after turning off engine to let oil drain to sump! gotta leave it a while to get a correct reading | |

I had something similar. We went touring round the south of england last summer so I did an oil change before hand. When we got there (about 500 miles) the oil had dropped to just above min, and it had been stood for over an hour. So I put half a litre in and checked again later on and it was way above max. Confusing eh? | |

I always tend to use the best oil in my car. Castrol GTX Magnetec is supposed to be a good oil. Also Mobil 1. | |

Only use semi synthetic if thats what vaux use | |

if its in between min n max then it will be ok. u top it up when its on minimum or just above. Better off getting ur own oil m8 - use semi synthetic | |
