apparently its running quite even for an ecotec  spoke to the bloke who did the headgasket etc and cleaned the t.b, he said he cleaned the icv aswell and also when he did the head gasket he did a compression test and found it to be ok :S

really annoying my this, the idle isnt like that of a misfire just a minute fluctuation every now and again but i can feel it in the seats / steering wheel etc

Common sign if it was ICV would be that it revs on its own matey

Try a compression test first.

Maybe un-even cylinder compression.

With the engine running start with cylinder 1 with set of pliers take the ht lead off the spark plug and listen for change in engine noise/drop in revs.

Do that and see which ones make a difference and see which ones dont.

If you have one cylinder that doesnt make a difference when the lead is removed then you know thats where the problem lies.

Been doing it since the headgaskets been done?

no, its just not idleing smooth, but its not showing up on the rev counter, you can also see / feel the engine move when its idling but it doesent do it all the time while idling just every few seconds or so, hard to explain really

*edit* also jerks when driving in slow traffic in 1st and in 5th on half throttle which is making me think its the icv.. the throttle body has been cleaned today but with no diffrence, doubt he cleaned the icv tho

Do a compression test then mateysee what it comes up with.

Does it sound rough when idling?

if i unplug my lambda and nothing happens does this mean its not working?

what are the other symptoms of a failed lambda? my fuel consumption is ok just the idle isnt even , the exhaust is like spitting air when you put your hand near it

cheers
