45s are too big for the engine, and yes, the manifold would disrupt airflow.

Can anyone tell me if a x14xe will be seriously restricted by using 45mm tb's on a 40mm diameter inlet manifold.

Its a manifold I've had stored away, but fancy using because it sits the tb's at about 37 degree rather than horizontal, like the current 45mm manifold does (more room and airflow away from the bulfhead).

I'm sure I've read somewhere that 45mm tb's are over the top for a 1400cc engine anyway. Or will a combination of 45mm tb's with 40mm inlet disrupt the airflow at the joint, where there wil be a step.

Thanks for any help and advice.
