Sounds daft but my head gasket was sorted with some radweld type stuff. :! | |

exactly the same as mine has done :( my 15 year old nova never gave asmuch trouble as a newer "reliable" car :lol: | |

so does the temp guage show the temp of the coolant and/or engine,and as long as that stays 90 to 92 then it should be ok?Or will the engine be hotter than the temp guage? | |

just make sure it doesnt get too hot in traffic otherwise youll crack the head | |

Yeah got the hg kit with gaskets and pump etc and my mate is gonna skim the head on friday for me.Kit cost £75 and is genuine vaux too!Mate getting a pint for the skimming!!Going to do it myself for the experience!:lol: | |

Im 99.999999999% sure the H/G has gone on my x14xe.Symptoms are mayo on oil cap,coolant smelling like petrol,waterfall behind the dash as well as no hot air from the heaters and its losing coolant.Also when accelerating it tends to smoke white smoke like a bitch. |
