they didnt use anything like DTI just knocked the drum off and looked inside and said the whole lot needs doing lol | |

they should use a DTI to measure the run out and also to see if its been warped from excessive heat. if they were scored and the lip was excessive then your best bet is to get them changed. | |

i went and looked for myself and he did say that one side was fine but other wasnt and you have to replace both at the same time. he did mention new bearings aswell. | |

the lips only make it hard to remove and refit the drums. the lip can be ground off without causing any damage to the drum its self. you need to get them to measure the runout thickness of the drums and compair them to the manual. if they are nearing the limit then get them changed. if they have plenty left on them, then get the lips removed and then have them all cleaned up (shoes etc) and put back on. | |

where did u have it checked at, a local garage or a retail one like kwik fit? for safety i would just go with it tbh. | |

well i think the bloke said that because it has a lip or somthing that it shoes wouldnt fit back onto drums or other way around not sure | |

is it the drums need replacing or the brake shoes? for my corsa i had 2 new brake shoes and front brake pads for 100 quid at kwik fit. also they tightened my hand brake cable. | |
