no need to blank it.......will need to blank where the tb used to sit on the side of the lower inlet tho ;)

Just to bring this back up randomly...when fitting an aftermarket inlet do u need to blank off the egr valve or can it be done just leaving it alone?

anyone got any ideas a sto why the EML comes on?

Surely blanking that port on the inlet wouldnt do anything, as my astra never had anything there to be bolted onto that place on the corsa's inlet

the inlet systems on the astra x14xe are different to the corsa. astra tb sits at the top of engine. manifold designs are totally different.
the astra has nothin like that

as my x14xe was standard in my astra, and it didnt have anything on it that looked like it fitted there.

therefore if it wasnt there in the 1st place, it shouldnt be causing the light to come on.

any ideas?

As Dave A righty said -

My EML comes on aswell. It's because of that blanking plate.

It blanks the part of the EGR valve. connects to the side of the lower inlet manifold

Dean_W

That is an EGR blanking plate. Commonly used when an aftermarket inlet is fitted. Mantzel, Dbilas etc.

its for an x14xe/16xe

what should bolt onto the inlet manifold, that this replaces?
