should be fine for over 100k, most people don't even do the mileage to knacker the engine. as long as serviced should be good even at high revs

When you say yours does 80mph comfortably, what's it revving at?

Just read your U2U message, thanks!

should be fine my X10XE has 83k on the clock and seems to be running fine so i dont think you should have any problems, i think the people rebuilding engines are normally using higher milage or tuned engines.
also if your mechanic says its fine then it most likely is

Just out of curiosity, my car a X10XE on a W-plate has covered 62k miles with full service history.

I noticed quite a few of you seem to be rebuilding engines and such - is it because they are high mileage and you need them in tip top condition for performance or that they are actually f**cked? Should I be weary of using it everyday for Uni etc or has it got plenty of life left in it?

Also, would 3krpm at 60mph sound right or is the engine working overtime?

It doesn't seem to be using any oil and doesn't sound dodgy - I also had it serviced bang on 60,000 and my mechanic said it was fine etc.
