if its been lashing it down my xe corsa fan belt squeeks while its idleing until the belt fan dries out. The noise is annoying but nothing to worry about. Change the fan belt (10mins just loosen the adjuster and slide forward then slide back and tighten) Job done. | |

ye u rite lol. so if i change fan belt itl stop the swirliing sound while idling. cud it b the cam belt making the sound | |

no not expensive at all m8 your thinking cambelt. fanbelt is about £5 | |

is the only solution to make it quieter while idling to get a new fan belt? or can u like do something else? ihave no idea about engines as u can tell. fan belts are expensive arnt they? | |

Yeah my 1.4 8v run about does this everytime its wet, its done it for over 6 months now and its still never let me down :lol: Like matt says though i think its the fanbelt slipping. | |

it sumtimes happens (quite rare) wen i drive off at 5 10mph and its kinda wet outside. also noticed it happens when my blowers are on full. what is it? is it my cambelt. also wen its cold outside and i first start the car and leave it to idle theres like a swhirling sound and goes away after iv run the car in a bit. again is it my cam belt. any way of sorting it? |
