think the fan belt might be too tight

Hi, for a few days now my car has beein whining a luittle.
its a high pitched niose which increases with revs. I openined the bonnet and reved it and it seems to be coming from the alternator / fan belt area.
The fan belt was loose but i got it tightened slight but ity does need replaced!
would this have anything to do with the noise?
maybe its over tightened?

Plus if anyone has any tips on how to change it then let me know
