i had the same problem only mine rattled at about 3000rpm. some baffles in the middle box had become un welded and rattled about.

i have this but its due to the cat being knackerd so new cat and down pipe on the way

just had mine taken off drive yesterday, massive problems with the water pump on sports had a new timing belt and pump would advise not driving it as if timing belt falls off that will send a whole lot of pistons into orbit and probaly damage the head so bassically a new engine as happened to my mate and excuss for getting an XE though

i had that on mine thought the same that it was the heat shield i took it to a mechanic and he said it was the water pump so i had that replaced along with new timing belt but then turned out it was the big end bearings had gone. hopefully you wont have this problem but i would take it to a mechanic asap just in case.

hi dudes i have a problem with a rattle on my (96) 1.4 16v corsa sport!
when u touch the gas pedal to put some rev's on, u can here a tinny sort of rattle i thought it was the heat shield but i am not convinced
Any ideas??
