Why replace the sump if its not damaged though, a bit of a scrub and some hammerite will sort it out. Use some new bolts and jobs done. | |

The sump and gasket I'm getting from an ebay 'shop' and the fixing kit was quoted by my local vauxhall dealership. | |

I did know about that -I can get a sump pan and gasket delivered for £34.50:! | |

do them all hand tight & then 1/4turn each further in order as said in haynes manual, will be plenty! dont overtighten tho! | |

unbolt the lower exhaust from the manifold, or the whole manifold if you fitted aftermarket one & drop the exhaust. | |

Looking at the rusty state of my sump pan nuts and bolts, should I let a garage replace the sump pan for me? I've heard that it's a straightforward job -but I've heard that before.;) |
