feck what did i do to that post:lol:

i had a problem were the car would rev up to 2krpm at the light and stuff it also flutuated down and up... not as low as 200rpm though...

icv fixed the reving up to 2krpm but it still fluctuats downward...

well its like when i come to stand still sometimes the rev's wont drop they will stay at 2k,... and then when i rev it they drop down to 800 then sometimes when i come to a stand still it will drop right down to 200 rpm then go back upto 800...

the last pic i posted is of the tb your tb is on the end of the dbilas and number 4 is the idle control governor arrowed

if you look at the diagram its held in by 2 bolts

can anyone post up the TIS thingy on how to replace, do you have to take off all that metal bit inbetween the dblias and where the airbox would go ? Please say you dont cause one of the bolts has been rounded off :(

EDIT: Dunno if TIS will help as its all moved... could do with knwing how to remove it though. or cleaning it.

off topic but could i get a manifold like yours to fit my car its a 1.8 sri c? how much are they and how much hassle/parts are needed to fit it? also wot kinda power gains would i be likly to see?

Ok cool.... the only thing making me think its the ICV is the guy that had the engine before said it had this fault intermitent ...

Hmm i have never heard of that but i get wherre abouts you mean now:)

the tb butterfly is in the throtttle body its the bit thar flaps open and closed to let air in. if you look at your pic the tb is the metal bit between the manifold and the pipe that connects to the air filter.

not sure how it works on vauxhall but itll either be adjustable with a scew or have a stepper motor that adjusts to keep the idle speed right when there is a load put on the engine. if it has a stepper motor there will be a plug on it.

the majority of the cars i have worked on this needs to be set on the computer unfortunatly.

flash22

the icv is on the side of the throttle body ?? but i am not too sure on the dbilas setup

the tb normaly is on the right hand side beside the water header tank

thats not the egr thats the secondry air pump... and i dont have a clue where the ICV or TB butterfly i know nothing about engines :)

pllusy

might be totally wrong here but is the idle control valve not on the throttle body?

i know that its on the throttle body on rovers and all it does is allow air to bypass the throttle butterfly to raise or lower the idle speed.

also your egr valve could cause it to nearly stall or cut out. my knowledge of vauxhall is limited but goin by the picture your egr valve looks like the bit thats on top of your manifold and it doesnt look like its connected. poss this could be part of the fault but as i said i might be wrong as i have limited knowledge on these engines.

where is my ICV located, i think this may be the reason for my eml coming on as sometimes it holds revs at 2k then drops when you rev it and others it will nearly stall...

Cheers
